The Diabetes Youth Foundation of Indiana’s mission is to provide impactful programs and camps that educate, encourage, and empower youth living with diabetes. As Program Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping an unforgettable experience for children and staff alike. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee all aspects of camp operations, ensuring a safe, fun, and enriching environment for campers. Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Program Director will have primary responsibility for the development and operation of all programs across all of Indiana.

Camp & Office Location: Noblesville, IN
Position: Remote outside of Camp & Community Programming
Status: Full Time
Salary: $45,000 – $50,000
Reports To: Executive Director
Key Duties Include:
  • Develop, deliver, and evaluate programs to meet the needs and interests of our target populations and ensure their delivery in a safe and quality manner
  • Leading and managing a dedicated team of counselors and support staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a high standard of care and engagement.
  • Assisting in hiring of seasonal and program staff.
  • Managing the camp budget, resources, and logistics to ensure efficient and effective operation.
  • Strategize new camp opportunities, community programs, and other events to fulfill the mission of the organization in collaboration with the Executive Director and Development Director.
  • Facilitate and ensure ACA accreditation compliance for the organization with on-site support from the lead team.
  • Evaluating program outcomes and gathering feedback to continuously improve and adapt the camp experience.
  • Assist in organizational events as needed throughout the year.
Ideal candidates will have a passion for education and youth development, along with excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Prior experience in a similar role or in a camp setting is highly beneficial.
 

Skills:

  • Strong leadership skills are essential, as the director will supervise staff, manage schedules, and coordinate activities.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities are necessary to effectively interact with campers, parents, and staff.
  • Self-motivated as this is a remote position outside of on-site programming.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and problem-solving skills are also important, as the director will need to adapt to changing situations and meet the diverse needs of campers.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 24 years or older
  • Must live in Indiana
  • 2+ years of working with youth in a leading capacity
  • Willing to travel quarterly up to 3 hours from Central Indiana
