Summer Camp

DUE TO THE COVID-19 CRISIS, DYFI has made the decision to cancel all in-person Camp Until a Cure programs this summer.

While we are unable to be together in person, we will be focusing our efforts on planning a FREE virtual camp during the month of June, which will include mailed care packages, live campfires and activities, opportunities for campers to connect with other kids with diabetes, and more! While we understand that nothing can replace our in person camp at Camp Until a Cure, we are hopeful this will be a fun experience and provide a community for kids with diabetes during this difficult time.

What will camp look like this year? We will be hosting 3 weeks of camp in the same timeframe as normal camp. We will still break the groups up by age and gender to create ?cabins.? Every day, the cabins will have a designated Zoom time. We will also utilize Facebook Live to provide fun, live demos including tie dying a 2020 camp t-shirt! Additionally, we will host a special campfire each night! Camp kits will be mailed out ahead of time including crafts, supplies, and other fun items. We will be creating a camp community online, and all content will be in a secure space designated for that sessions? campers and families. Other fun opportunities during this camp are a mentorship program, Pen Pals with other diabetes camps around the USA, and more.?

Each year, hundreds of children and teens with diabetes from all over Indiana call Camp Until A Cure home for the month of June. While at camp, they swim, hike, do arts & crafts, take creek walks, play paintball, climb the ropes course, have campfires with songs and skits, do activities centered around diabetes management and skills, and much more!

This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
